Quarterback
Chase Mitchell – Davenport
Mitchell brings proven production to Davenport’s quarterback position after throwing for 1,388 yards and 14 touchdowns. He completed 57 percent of his passes, showing the accuracy and consistency needed to keep the offense moving. With another year of experience, Mitchell will be expected to take command of the offense and continue creating big-play opportunities through the air.
Running Back
Brody Maxville – Olive
Maxville put together an outstanding eighth-grade season while contributing at both quarterback and linebacker. This fall, he is expected to make an immediate impact for Olive as a linebacker and fullback. His physicality stands out on both sides of the ball, as he is a tough, hard-running presence offensively and a punishing tackler on defense. Maxville’s willingness to play with toughness should make him an important player on Friday nights.
Wide Receiver/Tight End
Reece Murfin – Davenport
Murfin made the most of his opportunities last season, recording nine catches for 200 yards and three touchdowns. His ability to turn receptions into meaningful gains gives Davenport another dependable target in the passing game. Whether he lines up at wide receiver or tight end, Murfin has the potential to create matchup problems and provide a steady red-zone option for the Bulldogs.
Offensive Lineman
Ayden Passmore – Mannford
Passmore brings the strength, toughness and work ethic needed to be a difference-maker along Mannford’s offensive line. He is willing to handle the difficult assignments up front and does not shy away from the physical side of the game. His ability to do the dirty work in the trenches makes him a player to watch as the Pirates look to establish a physical identity.
Defensive Lineman
Chase Mitchell – Davenport
Mitchell was productive on the defensive line last season, finishing with 38 tackles and a fumble recovery. He brings a strong motor and a knack for being around the football, giving Davenport a reliable presence up front. His ability to contribute on both sides of the ball highlights his value to the Bulldogs and should make him one of the team’s key returning leaders.
Linebacker
Saylor Rackley – Cushing
Rackley is a versatile defender who can help Cushing in several different situations. His ability to contribute in multiple areas gives the Tigers flexibility within their defensive scheme. Rackley is expected to be an important piece of the unit this season, bringing dependable effort and the versatility to make plays wherever he is needed.
Defensive Back
Aydan Stancell – Davenport
Stancell was one of Davenport’s most active defenders last season, recording 95 tackles and eight pass deflections. His production shows an ability to support the run while also making plays in coverage. With his experience and instincts in the secondary, Stancell should again be a major part of the Bulldogs’ defensive success.
