CUSHING TIGERS
Coach: RUSTY MORGAN
8-3
OFFENSE
The Tigers are no stranger to postseason play. As they begin the 2024 campaign, they are looking to make a deeper run after an early first round exit last season. Brock Bales (6-0, 195, Sr.) will be at running back and he will look to find open running lanes behind a solid offensive line. Michael Cruz (6-1, 225, Sr.), Bret Griffeth (6-1, 200, Sr.), and Rowdy Jackson (6-0, 245, Sr.) are all three outstanding athletes and they have worked hard in the offseason to improve their blocking and overall play. On the outside, Lane Wood (6-3, 175, Sr.) and Max Wood (6-3, 175, Sr.) will both play at wide receiver and will work to get open and pull in the balls that are thrown their way.
DEFENSE
The defense played really well last season, only allowing more than 21 points in just two games. They will look to play an aggressive and attacking style of defense in order to continue their dominant play. Roman Tucker (6-1, 175, Jr.) will patrol the secondary at the safety position and he will work to keep the opponent’s big plays to a minimum. Wyatt Heisler (5-11, 190, Sr.) is going to be a force to be dealt with at defensive end. He is a strong and physical player that does not give up easily. The Tigers also have a trio of linebackers that will be ready to defend the pass or the run. Kellen Fry (5-11, 190, Jr.), Camden Wilson (5-10, 180, Sr.), and Tucker Lang (5-10, 185, Sr.) are all three solid defenders and will have an impact on the season. Assistant coaches for the Tigers this season are Kyle Fry, Scott Chisholm, Garrett Rockwell, David Tarp, Jaxon Douthit, Kyler Patterson, Jared Kennedy, and Jarvis Cannon.
