Mannford girls wrestling is set for an exciting season, blending a strong senior core with promising young talent in a room that is quickly building tradition. Head coach Ottawa Cochran likes the balance of newcomers and veterans and believes the Pirates have the leadership to make serious noise on the mat.
The program welcomes two high-impact senior transfers in Maggie Beaird and Shelby Glassco, who join returning leader Roseline Baker to form a powerful trio at the top of the lineup. Maggie is a two-time state qualifier and defending Class 5A state champion at 140 pounds whose leadership, work ethic, and championship mindset have already helped set the standard in her first year at Mannford. Glassco is a two-time state qualifier and 2025 state placer who finished 3rd at 125 pounds and brings relentless drive and an extraordinary work ethic that is already elevating the room.
Peyton Hightower, a freshman standout, arrives with an impressive résumé after going 22-1 and winning the Will Rogers Conference title as an eighth grader. Baker, a two-time state qualifier and 2024 state runner-up, is Mannford’s first-ever girls state placer and the heart and soul of the program, shining both on the mat and in the community through National Honor Society and leading the school’s annual Christmas toy drive.
