STROUD LADY TIGERS

GIRLS

Coach: Sherrie Simek

22-23 Record: 19-8

With a good mix of experience and new talent dotting the roster, head coach Sherrie Simek and the Stroud Lady Tigers are excited to get on the court and compete against a tough schedule. “Stroud Lady Tigers have high expectations for this group coming into the 2023 season. We return three starters and have added a large and talented freshmen group to our roster,” said Simek. The seniors are ready to lead this team. Charley Coleman is a versatile player who can play the 4-spot or handle the ball and shoot the three. Coach Simek said Coleman is, “a good leader, very responsible and a great teammate.” Makenna Hall is a true competitor and the floor General for the Tigers. Haley Durrence has moved to play guard

where coach Simek believes she will shine. “Haley is going to step into the one-guard position a little more this year and run the offense,” said Simek. Durrence is known for her hard work and how encouraging she is towards her teammates. Her impact will serve the Lady Tigers well this season. Several juniors and sophomores are going to play a significant role this season. “We will rely on the juniors and sophomores Carly, Kamden, Peyton, and Savanna to give us some defensive experience and add an extra offensive threat. Our talented freshman group is led by Nakaya Hogan. We are expecting her and the freshman to step up and make our team even more competitive in a very tough conference. We are hoping to cap this season off with a deep playoff run,” said Simek. Hogan is a smart player with tremendous court awareness. She shoots well, is a solid passer, and has the potential to be a significant player for Stroud for several years to come.
