STROUD TIGERS
Coach: JOSH PRESLEY
10-3
OFFENSE
The Tigers used a high scoring offense last season to advance to the Class A quarterfinals, outscoring their opponents by an average of 28 points. They will look to continue that dominance this season as they try to make another deep run in the playoffs. Head coach Josh Presley is ready to get this season going. “We are very excited for the upcoming season,” coach Presley said. “We have several returning starters and some young kids we’re excited to see on the field. We have good overall team speed on offense and defense.” Managing things at quarterback will be Dylan Baker (5-10, 165, Sr.). Last season he passed for 1,285 yards and 14 touchdowns. Joining him in the backfield will be a stable of running backs. Kason Presley (6-3, 230, Sr.), Jacob Beck (5-10, 175, Jr.), and Trystan Baker (5-11, 185, Jr.) are back after a solid performance last season, combining for 2,710 total yards and 44 touchdowns. Anchoring the offensive line will be tackle Leo Neuman (6-0, 230, Sr.) and guard Chandler Davis (5-11, 195, Sr.).
DEFENSE
The Tiger defense held their opponents to less than 14 points in seven games last season, with two of those being shutouts. This season, they will look to continue to play fast and attack the offense. At linebacker, Baker, Presley, and Beck will have their heads on a swivel and will work to slow down whatever the offense throws at them. Last season, Baker ended with 85 tackles, Presley had 66, and Beck finished with 55. In the secondary, Aiden Collins (5-9, 150, So.) will return to play cornerback after having 34 tackles and an interception last season. Baker will play at safety and will work to keep the big plays to a minimum. He totaled 77 tackles last season. Up on the defensive line, Patrick Gasper (6-4, 265, Sr.) is back to wreak havoc after getting 46 tackles a year ago. Assistant coaches for the Tigers this season are Jeff Britt, Neal Bacon, and Brett Tiger.
