Q&A with Cushing’s Beau Roe – Presented by AFR Insurance – Cushing Insurance Agency

1. What do you like most about being a student athlete at Cushing High School?

The comradery of my teammates and coaches. We play in a very competitive Class 4A. We have been to the State Tournament in back-to-back years.   We always get the best out of other teams trying to beat us.

2) What grade are you in and what position do you play?

Senior 2025 Grad. I play Shortstop and Pitch.

3) When did you first start playing baseball?

 My parents say I was throwing a ball since I was a baby. At Six years old I started playing T-Ball in Cushing.

4) What school are you signing with and what ultimately helped you in making your decision to sign there?

NOC-Enid, The winning culture of Jets baseball. I know some of the players that go there having played with them or against them in school and summer ball. The college is not very big and feels like a good fit for me.

5) What are you looking forward to the most about playing at the next level after high school?

Improving my skills offensively, defensively, and pitching.

6) What do you tell yourself when you’re at the plate?

” Don’t Suck ” LOL and hit the fastball.

7) What’s your favorite pitch to hit?

Middle in fastball

8) Which teammate always impresses you the most or do you have a former teammate who left an impression on you?

Rowdy Jackson, he’s been our vocal leader on the team. He’s always talking about situations and keeping the team in a good mindset.

9) What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Fishing, Hunting, and hanging out with friends and family.

10) Who inspires you the most?

My Dad, I wouldn’t be playing this sport if it were not for him. He always supports me no matter what, if I have a good game or a bad one. He always motivates me to be better. He tells me to keep my head down work hard and it will pay off in the end. He always tells me ” One day someone is going to tell you that you are not good enough to play baseball anymore, let that person be YOU!”
