Oklahoma is known for many things. Having great golf courses is one of them. But recently, the number of talented golfers playing high school tournaments has skyrocketed. Adding her name to that list is Mannford High School’s McKayla Livingston.
Now in her junior year, Livingston is proving herself on the golf course after playing softball and basketball during the fall and winter seasons.
The three-sport athlete is involved in other activities as well.
“I am involved in National Honor Society, Gifted & Talented as well as the Spirit Club,” said Livingston.
In the classroom, Livingston is just as focused. She has a favorite subject and teacher at school.
“My favorite subject is Algebra,” said Livingston. “Coach Cochran is my favorite teacher. He always has my back and pushes me to succeed.”
On the field, court or course, Livingston loves to compete. She said the excitement she gets from succeeding is one of the reasons she loves to represent her school in competition. One of her fondest memories came while playing softball.
“My favorite athletic memory is my walk-off hit against Cushing,” said Livingston.
The junior said she loves the bonds built while competing with her teammates.
“What I love most about my team and teammates are the bonds we have and how much fun we can have with each other,” said Livingston.
One goal Livingston is chasing is attending college and becoming a Dental Hygienist. Away from the game, Livingston said she enjoys spending time with family on the lake, shopping with friends and traveling.
