Cushing’s Hadleigh Stukey – Presented by AFR Insurance

VYPE: What grade are you in and what sports do you play?

Hadleigh: I am a senior at Cushing and I play softball.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?

Hadleigh: My favorite teacher was my 8th grade teacher Kalie Rockwell. She really gets to know each and every one of her students and you can tell she loves what she does.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?

Hadleigh: The teammate who has left the biggest impression on me is Kerik Brown. She never made me feel like I was failing, she taught me that it’s fine and a part of the games. She fought through injuries and had mental toughness.

VYPE: Who inspires you?

Hadleigh: Someone who inspires me is my mom. She has given me everything I need and more, and she always puts me first and herself last. I owe a lot to her for coming and watching my games in the hot 100 degree weather and always showing up.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Hadleigh: Something softball has taught me is that it’s good to face opposition because overall it makes you a better player.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Hadleigh: For me it gives me excitement and something to pour my heart into, and after overcoming two injuries each with their own surgeries, it taught me that everyone’s time is very limited and to make the most of it.

VYPE: What has been your favorite memory of playing?

Hadleigh: My favorite memory playing is when I hit a walk off home run, and everyone came running at me. It’s just such a happy feeling .

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

Hadleigh: The best advice anyone has given me is from the Bible. Isiah 43:2 “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.”

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Hadleigh: I just want to give a shoutout to Coach York, Coach E, and Coach Rob for always believing in me and watching me grow as a player. Without them I wouldn’t be the player I am today.
