DRUMRIGHT TORNADOES
BOYS
Coach: Jason Bray
22-23 Record: 22-4
Coach Jason Bray and the Tornado faithful are excited for this upcoming season as every player from the 22-win season last year is back for another run. “Return everyone from last year’s team, most players put on weight in the weight room, solid summer of development will have more consistent scoring to go around Joseph Bray. Defense was a focus point all summer and will be going into the season. Solid freshman class that is undersized but ahead of schedule fundamental wise. Should match last year’s win and be a better all-around team than last year,” said Bray. A two-time VYPE Top 100 player, Joseph Bray (6-5, Sr.) can play multiple positions and averaged 33.1 points, 9.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game as a junior. Bray scored over 800 points last year and could have 2,000 career points before Christmas break.
Jonathon Chavez (6-2, Sr.) is a forward/guard who accounted for 14 points, and 6.3 rebounds a game. Chavez is the perfect complement to Bray. Same goes for another guard/forward type in Bryson Kelley (6-2, Sr.). Kelley averaged 8.0 points and 5.3 rebounds last season. In the post look for Jaxson Bolton (6-6, Sr.) where the big man averaged 8.4 points and 8.0 rebounds. Cole Gregory (6-1, Sr.) is another senior who can help this team win. Gregory brings the intensity averaging 2.4 steals a game. Also look for Kevin Gooch (5-9, Sr.) who may be the 6th man coming in this season. Gooch averaged 2.5 points a game last year. Other players to watch include Austin McEntire (5-11, Jr.), Tony Six (So.), Carsen Mattox (So.), Danny Rice (So.), Garett Wright (Fr.), Keaton Jensen (Fr.), Zaeden Stewart (Fr.), and Sam Blackburn (Fr.). Assisting coach Bray is coach Mike Ledgerwood.
