Hall is a junior and plays a pivotal role on the football team as both a tight end and defensive end using his athleticism to contribute on both sides of the ball. Whether catching passes or pressuring the quarterback he’s a force opponents have learned not to underestimate. Hall also says that beating their rival Stroud is one of his favorite things about competing and says, “It’s a sweet taste to beat our rival.”
“One thing that motivates me is my faith in God,” Hall said. “One of my biggest influences/role models is my Head Coach, Jack Gray. “He pushes us to a higher standard in the weight room, the classroom, the field, and in our personal lives.”
While sports demand time and energy, Hall remains focused on his academics. “Being a good student is a priority,” he says. “School comes first, then athletics. I want to be known as someone who takes pride in everything I do-whether it’s in the classroom or on the field.”
One of the highlights of his career came on a play with a little razzle-dazzle. The highlight moment of my career was my coach designing a backside slip screen that I was only a few yards away from scoring a touchdown on.”
Hall continued, “The teacher that has had the most impact on my life is my dad. He wasn’t just a school teacher, he teaches me how to be a man and how to provide and care for my family in the future.”
Hall is also quick to credit some of his teammates in having an impact on him and the rest of the team. “Coniah Ritchie (WR, RB) has always pushed me past my limits in practice so we can both be the best we can be.” Hall also mentioned lineman Boston Christy for his drive and determination. “Every day I look across the weight room and he’s being pushed by his partners and he just keeps going and I feel like that often goes unnoticed by most of our guys.”
As he looks ahead to his senior year and beyond, Samuel Hall is determined to continue growing as a student-athlete and a leader. With faith as his foundation and a strong support system behind him, the future looks bright for this Chandler standout.
The Lions finished 8-4 last year and ended the year on a six game winning streak before losing to Millwood in the second round of the playoffs. The season begins on September 5th on the road at Stroud.
