Throughout an athlete’s career, numerous moments are ingrained in their memory. It could be a big play in a game, a great time bonding with their teammates away from the game, or something else. No matter what it is, this memory is important to the athlete. Rhianne Dawley has had some moments like this throughout her career, but she says that there is one that stands out the most.
“The highlight moment in my golf career so far would have to be winning my first golf tournament at Cedar Valley in Guthrie,” she said proudly. “Another would be winning state for pom two years in a row.”
Dawley is in her sophomore year at Chandler High School. As a member of the pom and golf teams, she says that she is proud to be able to wear the Chandler uniform when she competes.
“Being able to represent my school and community is a big responsibility,” she said. “I am not only representing myself, but the people around me that I care about. I always make sure I am working my hardest and being responsible.”
There have been people who have helped Dawley get to where she is today. She says that she is thankful for all of them and the impact they have made.
“My biggest role model is my dad,” she said. “He is a great golfer and a great person. The teammate that I enjoy working against in practice the most would have to be my cousin, Gracie. She is very positive and helps me to work as hard as I can.”
Along with being a solid athlete, Rhianne also works hard to be successful in the classroom. She says that balancing the two can be tough at times, but you have to know your priorities.
“I have to focus on not procrastinating things and getting them done when they need to be.”
When she is not competing, practicing, or working on schoolwork, Dawley checks up on her social media, where she has a few people she likes to follow.
“My favorite person I follow on social media is Nelly Korda because she seems like such a kind person, and she is a very hard worker and an awesome golfer,” she said.
