Chandler’s Cassie Wright – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Thompson’s Insurance Agency -American Farmers and Ranchers

Cassie Wright is a multisport athlete at Chandler High School. She has had a lot of influences on her, both as an athlete and as a person, but she has one person that has been a key part of her growth athletically.

“Connie Davis has had a substantial influence on my life,” Wright said. “She has taught me how to be a competitive athlete while being kind and supportive of others. She always pushes me to my fullest potential and teaches me great life lessons.”

In her senior year of high school, Cassie is a member of the track, cross country, and basketball teams at Chandler. Outside of athletics, she is also a member of the band, Gifted and Talented, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the yearbook.

Throughout her career, she has put in a lot of time and effort to be able to grow at each of her sports.

“It has taken a lot of running to get into the shape I need to be in order to be successful,” she said. “It also takes mental strength to push yourself as hard as you can. My motivation when I am competing is always trying to catch the person in front of me or trying to earn a starting spot.”

The teammates that Cassie competes alongside have also been important in her becoming the athlete that she is today.

“Cooper Snovel is the teammate I like to practice with the most,” she said. “He is the guy that I try to keep up with in practice and we always push each other harder. The least appreciated player on the track team is Tatumn Crouch. She is a good athlete who may not always win or place, but she is always pushing herself and doing it with a fun attitude and kindness.”

Wright has made some great memories during her athletic career and has a few that stand out as her favorite.

“As of right now, the highlight of my career has been placing 13th at the state cross country meet,” she said. “Also earning a spot on the All-Star cross country team and receiving basketball Academic All-State.”
