Brooklyn Hammons has built her senior year at Chandler High School around consistency, purpose and a steady commitment to doing things the right way. A three-sport athlete competing in cheer, basketball and track, Hammons has embraced every role asked of her, whether serving as a main base, side base or tumbler. Her approach is simple but effective, show up, do the work and repeat it every day.
That mindset has been the foundation of her success. Hammons is driven by an internal standard that pushes her to finish what she starts and give her best effort in every setting. Rather than chasing recognition, she focuses on being reliable and present, understanding that consistency over time leads to meaningful results. It is a mentality that translates across seasons and sports, allowing her to contribute wherever she is needed.
Her journey has also been shaped by lessons learned off the field. During her sophomore year, an English class helped her rethink how she approached her commitments. Instead of trying to do everything, Hammons began prioritizing what truly mattered, learning to be intentional with her time and energy. That shift allowed her to balance a demanding schedule that includes multiple sports along with involvement in Drama, Student Council, National Honor Society, Business Professionals of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Positive Peers.
Among her athletic accomplishments, one moment stands out. Receiving the “Pay It Forward” award at camp recognized her leadership and team-first attitude, while also giving her the opportunity to pass that recognition along to another teammate. It reflected the kind of athlete she strives to be, someone who lifts others up and values the collective success of the group.
Hammons also understands the importance of teammates who may not always receive the spotlight. She points to Makayla as someone whose consistent positivity and energy help keep the team motivated, highlighting Hammons’ awareness of the intangibles that shape a successful program.
As she prepares for graduation, Hammons plans to continue her education in Oklahoma, pursuing a degree in finance. Wherever that path leads, she carries with her the same approach that has defined her high school career, work hard, stay focused and represent her school and community with pride and purpose.
