CHANDLER LIONS
COACH: Franklin Ward
OUTLOOK
The Chandler Lions wrestling team enters the 2025–2026 season with confidence and determination under head coach Franklin Ward, who continues to build a culture of discipline, teamwork, and growth. “Our outlook for the 2025–2026 wrestling season is strong,” said Ward. “We have a hardworking group that is committed to improving every day, both on and off the mat. With continued discipline, teamwork, and consistent effort, we expect to compete at a high level and show significant growth throughout the season.”
Leading the way for the Lions this year is Landon Earp, a standout student-athlete. “Landon is a dedicated and hardworking student-athlete who consistently leads by example,” said Ward. “He approaches every practice and competition with focus, determination, and a strong desire to improve. Landon is coachable, disciplined, and committed not only to his own growth, but also to supporting his teammates and building a positive team culture.” Ward added that Earp “represents the values of our program with integrity, respect, and a strong competitive spirit, making him an outstanding nominee for this recognition.”
Another key contributor is Jack Maguire. “Jack is an athlete who leads through his work ethic and consistency,” said Ward. “He shows up every day ready to improve, putting in the effort that others notice and respect. Jack is coachable, focused, and willing to push himself past his comfort zone, which has led to steady growth in both skill and confidence. He encourages his teammates and helps set the tone for what it means to compete with discipline and heart.”
Among the underclassmen, Brody Waldman has made a strong impression early in his career. “Brody brings toughness, determination, and a strong competitive spirit to our program,” Ward said. “He is the kind of athlete who doesn’t shy away from hard work—he seeks it out. Brody’s resilience and commitment make him a valuable teammate and a key part of our team’s success.”
Rounding out the group is Landon Massie. “Landon exemplifies the values of Character Counts both on and off the mat,” said Ward. “He consistently demonstrates respect, responsibility, and integrity in all aspects of his life. Landon’s character and commitment make him a role model for others.”
With leadership from Earp, the consistency of Maguire, the grit of Waldman, and the integrity of Massie, coach Ward’s Lions are ready to make their mark on the mat this season.
