Chandler’s Kodey Pittman – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By AFR Thompson’s Insurance Agency

Kodey Pittman is a student-athlete at Chandler High School, playing both football and baseball. He has worked hard to become the athlete that he is today but he has also had to put that same kind of focus on his schoolwork so that he will be able to play. He says he has had some outstanding teachers over the years and each of them played a role in who he is today.

“I think that all of my teachers all the way from kindergarten to my senior year have played a huge part in teaching me in school and even in life.”

A senior at Chandler High School, Pittman plays tight end and middle linebacker on the football field, and on the baseball field, he is at third base.

Outside of sports, he is a member of the yearbook staff as well as Stage Crafting.

Being able to wear his school’s colors while competing is a big deal to Pittman and he says that he is proud to be able to do it.

“Being a Chandler Lion means a lot to me,” he said. “I get the opportunity to represent the school and the town out on the field.”

There have been quite a few influences on his life but Kodey says that there are
two people that have always been in his corner and supported him.

“My mom and dad are big role models of mine because they really pushed me to play sports to the best of my abilities and to be thankful that God gave me the opportunity to play sports.”

Kodey has enjoyed making a lot of great memories during his career, but he says that there is one moment that stands out as his favorite.

“I think the highlight moment of my career would definitely be catching a big touchdown in an overtime game against Bristow,” he recalled. “It was a great feeling to pull that catch in.”

While he has worked hard to get where he is today, Pittman says that without a special group of people, it would not have been possible.

“I like working with all of my teammates because we all push each other to get the most out of one another.”
