Riley Halford is preparing for her final year of high school and her last year of FFA activities at Bristow High School. Halford said she has her parents to thank for all of the opportunities she has been given.
“My parents have always been my biggest role models. Their work ethics and willingness to help others has always been a personality trait that I wish to aspire. They always support me in everything I do no matter how crazy the schedule may get and push me to reach my fullest potential,” said Halford.
The senior first got involved in FFA when she was in the eighth grade.
“My family has always been involved in the FFA, so I always knew that wanted to be a part of it too. Many family friends as well were extremely helpful in getting me on my feet and to where I am today,” said Halford.
As a member of the FFA chapter, Halford said she loves to show her swine, but plans to do more as a senior.
“The people that I have met through the FFA are by far the best part of the organization. With meeting these people have come many friendships that I will cherish forever as well as an endless amount of opportunities that have gotten me farther than I could have ever imagined possible. I have only shown hogs this far but plan to get as involved as possible for my senior year,” said Halford.
Halford is a member of National Honor Society and the Business Professionals of America. As a member of the softball team, Halford said she enjoys representing her school with her teammates.
“The bond that I have created with my teammates and what our team represents is something unmatched by any other softball program. My teammates are my family. We always have each other’s backs and if anyone ever needed anything we would all be right there to help one another,” said Halford.
After her senior year Halford plans to attend Oklahoma State University and major in Agriculture or Secondary English Education.
