Bristow’s Alex Wilhite – Presented by Ortho Oklahoma

The life of a high school student can be busy at times. Along with all of the class work that they need to complete, they also have any sports or clubs that they are a part of as well. In order to make it all work, Alex Wilhite says that you just need to have a plan.
“For me to balance my school work and activities I use a planner,” she said. “I fill it out at the beginning of the week so that I know all the things I need to do and when my deadlines are.”

Wilhite is a senior at Bristow high school, where she is a member of the soccer team. She is also involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Bristow Athletic Leadership Council, Business Professionals of America, and the Leo club.

When it comes to her teammates, Alex is thankful for the group and how they work together. She says she has one teammate that she enjoys going against in practice for obvious reasons.

“I enjoy playing against my sister in practice because she plays defense and I play forward,” she said. “It’s perfect when we’re on opposing teams during practice because she guards me and I try to get around her and score. It’s fun, competitive, and helps make us both better.”

Throughout her career, Alex has made a lot of memories while playing. Out of all of those, she has one that stands out as her favorite.

“There are many moments I can think of that I consider highlights, but overall the most memorable was when my sophomore year I beat the school record for most career goals scored by a single player,” she said.

There are people that have had a big influence on Alex and who she is today and who she will become. She has two that have had the biggest impact.

“My parents are my biggest role models,” she said. “They work very hard and have taught me discipline and how hard work pays off.”

Wilhite has committed to play at Seminole State College next year to continue her soccer and academic career.
