KELLYVILLE PONIES
Coach: KEN ZACHARY

OFFENSE
The Kellyville Ponies are looking to improve significantly in the 2024 season, building on the experience gained from last year. “Last year we were very young with freshmen and sophomores. We will be very young again this year but with most of our team coming back,” said head coach Ken Zachary. The Ponies’ offense will be led by sophomore quarterback Asher Thornbrue (6-1, 150, So.), who showed promise as a freshman. “He is definitely someone to look at. He already has a nice quarterback arm,” Zachary said. Key returning players include wide receiver/defensive back Jayvius Homes (5-9, 150, Jr.), running back/receiver Hillsberry (5-9, 175, Jr.), and offensive lineman Woods (6-0, 175, Jr.). “Jayvius is an upcoming all conference player. If he reaches that potential that I believe he can, he could be a D-1 prospect,” Zachary said. Wyatt Stotts (6-0, 150, So.) will also be a valuable receiver. The offensive unit aims to establish a strong run game while utilizing quick hitters in the passing game.
DEFENSE
Defensively, the Ponies will operate from a 4-2-5 attack formation, focusing on aggressiveness and adaptability. Kellyville will emphasize physicality and discipline, ready to adjust to any offensive scheme they face. Key players on defense include junior defensive lineman/linebacker Lucas Watashe (6-1, 220, Jr.), linebacker/offensive lineman Montgomery (6-1, 210, Jr.), and outside linebacker/running back Briggs (5-9, 165, Jr.). With ten returning starters, the Ponies’ defense is expected to be a formidable unit, prepared to set the tone in every game. The coaching staff includes Lafe Cruzan, Adam Pinkerton, Coalton Hurst, Jarred Westmorland, Andrew Brown, and Adre Hurst.
