Baker is State Runner-Up

Mannford High School sophomore Roseline Baker in is her third year of wrestling and second year wrestling for the high school. Being a student-athlete and representing Mannford High School has been a great experience for Baker.

“My favorite thing about being a student-athlete is the family that you get to create and the people you get to meet,” said Baker.

This season, Baker competed at 120-pounds and qualified for the state tournament in Oklahoma City. There, Baker finished a great season as state runner-up. Her second place finish was the only placer this year for Mannford, but Baker said her teammates were supportive all season.

“I love that everyone can enjoy each other’s success and strive to be better with them,” said Baker. “Placing at state and having so many people support me while I was there, if they weren’t there, I wouldn’t have made it as far as I did.”

Baker is a member of the Spirit Club at MHS, and she said history is her favorite subject.

“History is my favorite class, and my favorite teacher is Mr. Keleb Furr,” said Baker.

The sophomore said she would like to attend college after high school and wrestle at the next level. She would also like to work as a welder.

In her free time Baker said she enjoys hanging out with her siblings and helping them with their sports.
