Q&A with Bristow’s Lukas Hiett – Presented by Run Stop

VYPE: What grade are you in and what sports do you play?
Lukas: I am a junior at Bristow High School. I run the 4×100, 4×200, and 4×400 relays, and sometimes the open 100 or 200 on the track team.

VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?
Lukas: I’ve qualified for state every year since my freshman year.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher and why?
Lukas: Mrs. Zapata, my English teacher, because she is very kind and treats me well.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Lukas: Gage Spencer inspires me because he has taught me a lot and is very talented.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Lukas: Gage Spencer has left the biggest impression on me because of what he’s taught me and the memories we’ve shared. I’m proud to be his friend.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?
Lukas: Getting to compete and make my school proud.

VYPE: What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?
Lukas: Sometimes you have to find the silver lining in hardships. Not all bad situations are without good.

VYPE: Who would you like to thank or give a shoutout to?
Lukas: Thank you to Coach Hall and Coach Bobby for always being there for me. I respect you both a lot. Thank you to my parents for always having my back, and thank you to all my friends. I love you guys (no matter how much you make me mad).

VYPE: How would you describe your role on the team?
Lukas: I’m somewhat of a mentor for the younger athletes. I’m not the strongest leader, but I try to keep things light when needed.
