On any given meet day, Jordan Kersey can be found bouncing between events, carrying both speed and confidence wherever he goes. A senior at Cushing High School, Jordan has built his reputation as a versatile track athlete, competing in the 4×100, 4×200, 4×400 relays, and the long jump. No matter the event, his focus is simple: give everything he has.
“My role is to really just run fast and be the best I can be.”
That mindset has helped Jordan become a key contributor to his team’s success. Whether he’s exploding out of the blocks in a relay or sprinting down the runway for a long jump attempt, he brings energy and determination that his teammates feed off. But for Jordan, track is about more than individual performance, it’s about the people beside him.
“I’m most proud of my teammates and how everyone works hard every day.”
Still, his accomplishments speak for themselves. Last season, Jordan earned recognition as one of the top long jumpers in Class 4A, a moment that reflected years of effort and growth. Even with that success, he stays grounded, constantly pushing himself to improve.
“Don’t give up when you get tired or when it gets hard.”
That lesson has shaped who Jordan is, both on and off the track. He credits much of his development to the people around him, especially his father, who continues to inspire him daily.
“My dad inspires me to become a better person every day and work hard, and if you do those things, it will all work out.”
At school, Coach Doulthit has also played a major role, always believing in Jordan and challenging him to reach his full potential. Teammates like Roman Tucker have left their mark, too, showing what true dedication looks like through hard work and relentless effort.
Jordan takes pride in representing Cushing every time he competes, understanding that being an athlete means more than just performance.
“My favorite part is getting to wear the C on my jersey and representing it the best way possible.”
With his senior season underway, Jordan Kersey continues to lead by example, proving that belief, effort, and heart can carry you a long way.
