2024-2025 Kellyville Ponies Basketball Preview

KELLYVILLE PONIES

BOYS

Coach: Vince Chavez

23-24 Record: 24-7

After getting a taste of the state tournament last season, the Ponies enter this season ready to get back and stay a little longer. Head coach Vince Chavez says that his team is excited to get the season underway and he is ready to see what they are able to accomplish. “We are coming off the best season in Kellyville boy basketball history, ending with a 24-7 record,” Chavez said. “This season looks to be another breakout season. We are bringing back six of our top eight  boys from last season including three starters. The schedule was beefed up this year to help this team make a deeper run than last year.” Ryker Buckley should be a key player for the team this season. He has a high basketball IQ which helps him understand and control the game at a young age. He will look to add more to his game to help lift his team to new heights this year. Sophomore Caleb King is a big guy with a huge wingspan. He will work to rack up the rebounds and help his team by getting blocks. Point guard Jackson Jones is highly skilled and seems to make the right play more often than not. He will be a contributor to the varsity team this season. Daxton Thornbrue and Jonah Ennis are great kids that are ready to do whatever they can to help their team. They work hard and are always there when needed.
