Mannford Freshman Carley Sets Stage for Future Success – Presented by Rib Crib

Mannford High School

When Mannford High School freshman Lorna Carley took the wrestling mat this season, she brought her experience from wrestling as a youth into the wrestling room. Now on the varsity team, Carley is working hard to set the foundation for a successful career at Mannford.

“The thing I love most about being a student-athlete is the second family you get with your teammates. My favorite memory this season was when we had our own girls’ dual, and we all got to run out onto the mat as a team,” said Carley.

The freshman said she was grateful for her teammates this season and what she learned from them.

“The thing I love most about my teammates is that we all get along, and we all support each other, win or lose,” said Carley.

For the next three seasons, Carley will continue to improve her skills on the mat while staying focused on the classroom work.

“My favorite subject is science, and one of my favorite teachers has been coach Gooch,” said Carley.

Carley said she would like to attend college at Oklahoma State University, but before she leaves for college, the freshman said she enjoys being part of her youth group at church, spending time with family, and working out.
